After being dropped off in the jungle with a half built house looking at the hours of work needed, did I make the right decision? Was it worth all the sweat and hour upon hour of labor, not to mention sleeping in the jungle and leaving my wife behind for three days? I for one think it was worth it.
On a serious side of things I volunteered myself and my time for three days of work. In order not only to help build a house but bless some dear missionary friends of ours (Jennifer and Josiah) and I knew what I was getting into before I said yes. It was my pleasure to help build their new home for them.
Throughout the three days of work I painted some roofing tiles, moved alot of dirt, and mix Alot of Cement! We spent one whole day just leveling and tamping the porch to be. Let me stop and tell you one thing, hard labor is hard, yet in Brasil the heat makes it ten times the work. I have never sweat more in my life, even when I used to do roofing. Brasil is HOT!
The short video clip, is after a hard day of work, I was asked to cook some rice and steaks. (Click on the link the follows http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thkP_o9lwR4 ) I am proud to say that we got the whole porch poured and smoothed out with cement and also finished the bedroom floor as well.
We love you all, hope you enjoy the little video. We Love You!
